The foremove
A downloadable goofy chess game for Windows
Regular chess, but you premove every move.
In fact, it's not just premoving your moves, it's deciding your moves before the game has even started.
Each player is given a certain amount of time to decide all of their moves, from opening, to midgame, to ending(this is pretty rare). After all players have decided their moves, the players' moves are played back to them, and whoever runs out of moves, makes an illegal move or gets checkmated wins.
This game is currently an extremely buggy proof-of-concept that I made over the course of my 2 week long winter break.
Known bugs:
-Game is permanently in 800x600, resizing doesnt work
-Check/checkmate doesnt register
-Moves play back incorrectly(mostly move sequences getting cut off) if White and Black have not made the same number of moves during the pregame phase
-Lots of placeholder elements
-Rooks, bishops, and queens can phase through other pieces
-Pawns can capture the piece infront of them
-Pawns can literally spawn queens out of nowhere, and replace the piece currently on the square
-Illegal moves/checkmates/running out of moves do not immediately trigger ending, ending must be triggered by pressing ENTER
Controls:
F- Playback one move
W/E: flip board to white/black
S/D: During playback phase, change to white/black turn
Space: New game
Enter: Move to next screen/phase; trigger ending; go back to title
Mouse1: Drag pieces
